School districts in Texas are temporarily closed in response to COVID-19. School closures typically mean school lunch and school breakfast are no longer available to students. However, schools, state and federal agencies, advocacy groups, and nonprofits have worked hard to make sure children and families do not lose access to nutritious meals during this time.
A few things to keep in mind:
-
Meals are available for kids and teens under 18.
-
If schools are serving both breakfast and lunch, these meals are not necessarily served at the same time. Please reference "School Food Resources" for site-specific distribution information.
-
If you do not see your school district or community listed, visit the "Share with Us" tab and tell us what you know. As appropriate, we'll add it to the site.
-
Visiting your local school district website is the best way to find up-to-date information.
*Access the "School Food Resources" tab on this site for a running list of school closures accompanied by what meals they are making available.
