The Salvation Army

Who We Are

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church.

Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God.

Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

What We Do

The Salvation Army provides food, shelter, counseling and other physical, social, emotional, psychological and spiritual aid, given on the basis of need, available resources and established program policies. The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in 1865 in London, England, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for 126 years in the United States. 82 cents of every dollar raised is used to support those services in 5,000 communities nationwide. In the event of a disaster, 100 percent of the donations raised go toward relief efforts. For more information about The Salvation Army, please visit
