Description

About:

We are needing volunteers to help interview students for the FIRST Tech Challenge dean's list award. Each season, coaches get the chance to nominate one or two students for the dean's list award. This award is given to students who show a great passion for STEM education and the ethos of FIRST.

Dean's List interviewers help interview the students by asking them questions about being a dean's list semi-finalists and taking notes down for dean's list reviewers to look at for a later date. The top three semi-finalists will be announced at the West Texas FTC Regional Championship on the 25th of February.

This event will be done remotely and training will be provided ahead of time.

Those who have questions about volunteering can reach to our FIRST Senior Mentor Garrett Smith at gsmith@firstinspires.org.

FIRST Tech Challenge is a robotics program where teams of middle and high school students come together to design, build, wire, program, and market robots in order to score points and earn awards at robotics competitions. These robotics competitions contain a robot game that changes every year, bringing in new science and engineering challenges that the students must overcome.

Through FIRST Tech Challenge, students learn valuable soft and technical skills that are in demand by the companies and colleges of today.
