Late winter is the time to trim pampas grass.
Beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 we will be trimming the pampas grass along the walkway leading up to the Lubbock Master Gardeners Demonstration Garden. Lubbock Master Gardeners will be handling the electric hedge trimmers, but you are welcome to bring your own hedge shears if you would like. I also encourage you to bring your own gloves and definitely wear long sleeves.
We will have at least two people trimming and the remaining raking and moving the clippings to the roll off dumpster located parallel and to the north of the Lubbock Master Gardeners Demonstration Garden. We will be using tarps to transport the trimmings from the site to the roll off dumpster. Each tarp will need up to four people to carry.
We will start from the east side (nearest the Demonstration Garden) and work our way west until we are finished.
