About:

The FIRST Tech Challenge Texas - West & Panhandle Regional Championship is one of the biggest robotics event hosted by the Whitacre College of Engineering STEM Outreach Program! The best teams from the Lubbock, Amarillo, Midland, El Paso, San Angelo, and Abilene areas will come with their robots to score points and earn awards to win a spot at the state and world championship!

This will be an exciting time to see the accumulation of the work that our middle school and high school students of West Texas have accomplished!

Everyone is welcome to attend and spectate this big event!

FIRST is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving STEM education through the use of hands-on programs and competitions!

About FIRST Tech Challenge:

FIRST Tech Challenge is a robotics program where teams of middle and high school students come together to design, build, wire, program, and market robots in order to score points and earn awards at robotics competitions. These robotics competitions contain a robot game that changes every year, bringing in new science and engineering challenges that the students must overcome.

Through FIRST Tech Challenge, students learn valuable soft and technical skills that are in demand by the companies and colleges of today.
