Needs From: Volunteer Center of Lubbock

Boys & Girls Clubs are seeking volunteers for the after-school program at five Club locations.  A background check is required after a one-time visit.  The cost for the background check is $10 for the John Wilson Club, Talkington Club and the Shallowater Club.  The Ted Phea Club and the Optimist Club require a FBI fingerprint background check that costs $20.  This check is good at all 5 locations for 5 years.  

Clubs are open from 3:30-7:00pm Monday through Friday.  Members come in and eat a hot meal and do homework.  They can then move on to activities in the arts/crafts room, library, computers, gyms and outdoors. 

All five of our Clubs compete against each other in flag football, volleyball , basketball and soccer.  It is time for 6-8 year old co-ed leagues.  All Clubs need coaches for practice and games.  Contact any club to sign up to coach a team.

Ted Phea and Optimist are open from 9am-6pm Monday through Friday. Members eat lunch and a snack. They will complete activities in arts/crafts, library, computers, gyms and outdoors. Members will go swimming and take field trips. Talkington and Wilson are open 7:30am-6pm Monday through Friday. Members come in and eat breakfast, lunch and a snack. They will complete activities in arts/crafts, library, computers, gyms and outdoors. Members will go swimming and take field trips.
