Volunteer: We need volunteers for direct patient companionship, office support and special events.Direct patient volunteers serve as a friend to patients and families. They offer support by sitting with the patient while the caregiver takes a break to attend to personal needs, runs errands, or simply needs some quiet time. Training is required for volunteers who would like to help with Direct Patient support. Office support volunteers work in the hospice office and perform clerical tasks such as filing, mail-outs, data entry, etc. Training is NOT required for this type of Indirect Patient Support. Sewing volunteers have the opportunity to create special items such as memory bears, memory pillows and lap quilts. Training is NOT required for they type of Indirect Patient Support. Special events such as memorial services, fundraisers and community services are available for volunteers who would like to help with these types of projects.
