Join the Volunteer Center of Lubbock for an afternoon of connection, hands-on service, and an introduction to making a difference in your new community!
You’ll meet five local organizations doing important work across Lubbock:
- Buckner International
- Lubbock Meals on Wheels
- South Plains Kidney Foundation
- High Point Village
- Lubbock Parks and Recreation
You’ll hear directly from each organization about who they serve, the impact they make, and ways you can get involved during your time in Lubbock.
Then, it’s your turn to serve! You’ll complete hands-on “Projects in a Box” designed to meet real needs of these organizations. Once completed, your projects will be given to the nonprofits to share with the individuals and families they serve.
Spend your Friday afternoon meeting your community, serving alongside other students, and discovering ways to stay involved beyond orientation. Your connection to Lubbock starts here!
