AUGUST 2022 DIRECT PATIENT VOLUNTEER TRAINING!
August 19th (Friday) 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
August 20th (Saturday) 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
August 21st (Sunday) 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
- Dinner will be served at the Friday evening session, 8/19/22
- A light breakfast and lunch will be served at the Saturday session, 8/20/22
- Snacks and beverages will be provided during the training sessions
The Direct Patient Volunteer Training sessions include the following topics:
- The hospice philosophy of care
- Responsibilities as a hospice volunteer
- Communication and listening skills
- The special language of the dying
- Phases of dying
- Signs of approaching death
- Coping with death
Hospice volunteer positions that DO NOT require Direct Patient Volunteer Training sessions are available. These include:
- Sewing
- Office support
- Special events
- Special projects
