The YWCA of Lubbock is beginning a new series entitled Girls Just Wanna... in the series we will be hosting live events, campaigns, and discussions aimed at highlighting issues that women in our community face. For our inaugural series event we will be hosting Girls Just Wanna...Be Represented, featuring a watch party of Vote, Run, Lead's Run/51 Campaign , aimed to expand women's representation in both State and Local offices.
Together we will hear from statehouse alumnae as well as local representatives and learn about the exclusive Run/51 ten-week training for any one interested in running for office themselves. This will be a special opportunity for women in our community to learn how they can support candidates who are representative of their selves and their beliefs.
Bring your own lunch and join this collection of women for a quick bite, engaging conversation, and a panel discussion revolving around how you can best be represented in your State and Local elected offices.
