Catholic Charities of Lubbock

We serve thousands each year across Lubbock and the surrounding areas through a variety of programs designed to empower individuals and families.

Our Emergency Assistance program provides food, helps pay utility bills, assists with prescription costs, provides rental assistance, and gives clothing and furniture vouchers for our Resale Center.

Our Parent Empowerment Program helps low-income parents with tuition, books, and limited family expenses while they attend college so they can complete their education and transition their family out of poverty.

Our Immigration Department provides legal immigration and US citizenship assistance to families and individuals.

Our Family and Youth Success program (FAYS) provides free crisis and skills building counseling for youth and their families, and free parent education classes in a 30 country area across West Texas.

Our Kinship Navigation program assists those who are raising children that are not biologically theirs.  This might include grandparents raising grandchildren or other family members raising family children. 

Our Resale Center accepts donations of gently used clothing, furniture and household goods, cleans and restores donated items, and offers them for sale to the community at low cost. Home-pick up of items is available.

Catholic Charities of Lubbock, in response to the Gospel’s call to serve “the least among us,” helps individuals and families, regardless of race, national origin, religion, age, or gender, who face crises or need social services to improve their quality of life.

We enjoy a long standing relationship with the Lubbock community and the surrounding areas with roots dating back to the 1930s when the Catholic Welfare Bureau was established to provide food, clothing, bedding and other donations to those in need. Catholic Charities greatly values our volunteers who commit their time to helping those in need throughout Lubbock and the surrounding areas.
